These homeowners loved their west London neighbourhood so much that when it was time to downsize, they bought the house across the street. Built in 1961, the one-story home came with a large lot and a swimming pool. Today, those features are almost all that remain of the original property.
“When I started removing the wallpaper and looked behind the plaster, I realized there was no insulation,” the homeowner says. That’s when the vision for a larger renovation began to take shape. The couple called in interior designer Erika Friesen to help bring their ideas to life.
“I knew they were adventurous and appreciated creativity,” says Friesen. “This was a really fun project. It was a bit of a carte blanche for me.”
